Speakers in Hand

As you can probably guess by the title, there has been some time now that I am looking into replacing my speakers.
What I am currently using is a pair of vintage JVC/VICTOR, the SX3 II which you can see on the side.
There are a beautifull pair made out of 22mm plywood covered with an artificial veneer.
They weight a hefty 16.5kgs and have dimensions of W315xH520xD290mm. They are rated at 80 watts @ 6 Ohms with a sensitivity of 88db. Their range is 35Hz to 20KHz with a crossover at 1.8KHz.
I have to admit the 25cm woofer give a more than satisfactory bass reproduction, but depending the amp it can sometimes be overwhelming. One of their strong points is their amazing soundstage. You can easily move about carrying on with whatever is that you are doing, without losing anything in 3D imaging or quality of sound.

The only negative thing I can say about them is that the 25cm woofer can be a bit overwhelming and it requires an amp with tone/bass control to achive good midrange resolution. Besides that their vocal reproduction is excelent with very good tonality on both female and male voices.

They are manufactured back in 1974 and they purchased that year directly from Japan. Their estimated value is 370Euros.
